Hello and Happy St Patrick's Day.

The Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Department know that during these stressful times it's easy to forget about the importance of staying active and creating activities for your family while you're at home.  With that, we feel that it is our responsibility to try to help out by reaching out to you and giving you ideas of how you can pass the time with your family and have a little fun.  We will be posting to our website, sending out emails, and posting to our social media (@cvrec) different creative ideas to pass the time.  We hope you find this useful.

In honor of St. Patrick's day, here are some ideas to celebrate:

1.  Make a St. Patricks Day Craft-Shamrock plates, or a St. Patricks Day Card to send to friends since we can't see them

2.  Bake something green: Lucky Charms Rice Crispy Treats or Green pancakes

3.  Create a scavenger hunt around the house, "Find the Leprechaun"

4.  Find some Irish music and learn to dance a Jig

5.  Watch a St. Patricks themed movie: The Secret of Kells or The Magical Legend of Leprechauns

6.  Search for Four Leaf Clovers in your back yard

7.  Do a themed Relay race

8.  Have your kids create a Pot of Gold, and then hide it around the house or back yard so the kids have to find it

9.  Parents, after a fun-filled day of entertaining your kids treat yourself to a nice "Irish Coffee"!!

Just some fun ideas from the Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Department.  We hope you enjoy.  We will be in touch.
